20 January, 2018 - by Philip McGuigan

Commenting on the news of a tragic accident near Toome last night, which claimed the life of a 19-year-old girl from Dunloy and injured a 21-year-old man from Ballymoney, North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan said:

“The village of Dunloy has been plunged into sadness this morning with the sad news of a young girl tragically losing her life in an accident last night."

Philip McGuigan, who is a resident of Dunloy added:

“This news that we woke up to this morning in the village is heartbreaking. I know this young girl and I know her family well. I would be speaking to her father almost on a daily basis.

"She was at University and had a bright future so to have lost her life so young in these circumstances is hard to take.  All our thoughts and prayers are with her family who are obviously devastated.

“We are also thinking and praying for the young fella from Ballymoney who is injured and for his family.”
