Gerry Adams TD expresses condolences on death of John Robb
Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams has expressed his “sadness at news of the death of John Robb”.
Teachta Adams extended his “deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of John Robb”.
The Louth TD said:
‘He was a remarkable man who saw beyond the divisions in the North and believed passionately in an agreed Ireland.
"Johns' New Ireland Group, which he established in 1982, argued for a society which would accommodate all sections of our people. He believed in reconciliation and a shared future.
"As a Senator he made an important contribution to the political and cultural life of the island of Ireland.
"John Robb was a man of deep conviction who learned to speak and read the Irish language. He will be greatly missed.
"Go ndeanfaidh dia trocaire ar a n’anam dílis."
