Mullan encourages members of public to become school governors
Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan has said “boards of Governors play a crucial role in the management of schools.”
The party’s education spokesperson was speaking as she encouraged people to apply to become school governors.
The Foyle MLA said:
“By volunteering to serve on a school Board of Governors, members of the public have a chance to play a crucial role in the management of schools and make an invaluable and positive contribution to children’s lives by sharing skills and experiences.
“There is still an opportunity for anyone interested to volunteer to become a school governor.
“Further information on how to apply and a copy of the application form are available online to download from the Department of Education website or the Education Authority website.
“Successful applicants will be expected to take up the post for a four-year term of office from 2018 – 2022.”
