’PWC cashing in on Carillion collapse’ - Ni Chuilin
Sinn Féin Housing spokesperson Caral ni Chuilin has described as shocking the revelation that PwC charged £20.4m in fees in the first eight weeks of being appointed to manage the collapse of the outsourcing multinational Carillion.
The North Belfast MLA commented:
“When greed and mismanagement brought Carillion to the point of collapse many workers lost their jobs and pension entitlements, while subcontractors faced financial losses and possible bankruptcy.
“Now it now seems PWC is cashing in on the disaster with fees of up to £865 per hour being charged.
“I have written to the Housing Executive and the Permanent Secretary of the Department for Communities seeking assurances that public money here will not also be squandered cleaning up the mess left by Carillion.”
