Anderson challenges civil service to release Brexit analysis
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has challenged the interim head of the civil service in the north to release all analysis and figures on the extent of the impact of Brexit on the north.
Speaking after meeting with David Sterling at Stormont Castle today, Martina Anderson said:
"I met today with the interim head of the civil service in the north, David Sterling, at Stormont Castle today alongside my party colleague Máirtín Ó Muilleoir MLA.
"We challenged him to release all assessments made by civil service departments in the north on the extent of the impact of Brexit on the local economy after concerns that assessments revealing the true impact of Brexit are significantly worse than the British Treasury analysis - and these needs to be shared.
"We have been made aware that assessments carried out by the civil service here have shown that the impact of Brexit on the local economy will be far greater than what had been already been reported.
"We made it clear that in the interests of transparency and accountability that the public are entitled to know the full extent of the impact of Brexit and that he needed to release all assessments held by his departments immediately."
