Sinn Féin offers condolences on death of homeless man in Galway – Eoin Ó Broin TD
Sinn Féin Housing spokesperson, Eoin Ó Broin TD, has offered his condolences to the family and friends of a homeless man who passed away in Galway last week.
Deputy Ó Broin said:
“We do not yet have all the details. We do know from media reports that the gentleman who passed away was sleeping rough and had previously availed of emergency homeless services.
“The government has not grasped the extent of the homelessness problem in this state. Unfortunately homelessness, its causes and consequences is a political issue.
“Minister Murphy has no handle on the problem and is forging ahead with the bad policies of his predecessor.
“I will be raising the matter with the Minister next week when he’s in front of the Housing Committee.
“We need to see a real change in policy direction if this government truly want to tackle the crisis and protect vulnerable homeless people.”
