Declan Kearney attending PLO National Council
Sinn Féin National Chairperson Declan Kearney MLA will arrive in Ramallah today to represent the Sinn Féin leadership and speak at the Palestinian Liberation Organisation's 23rd National Council.
Speaking ahead of the first session of the Palestine National Coumcil, Mr Kearney said: "Sinn Féin accepted the invitation from the Chair and Speaker of the Palestine National Council (PNC), Salim Al-Za'noon, to address this 23rd session of the Palestine National Council of the PLO.
"Among the senior Palestinian representatives attending the conference are President Abbas, Mohammad Sbeih, Secretary General of the PNC, Dr Nabeel Shaath, Presidential adviser on International Relations, Dr Ahmad Tibi, Deputy speaker of the Knesset, Dr Hanan Ashrawi, Dr Saeb Erekat, and Dr Mustafa Barghouti, General Secretary Palestinian National Initiative (PNI).
"International guests from over 80 countries will be attending the conference.
"I will be addressing the Conference on behalf of Sinn Féin and will extend solidarity at this time when Israeli aggression continues to hamper a real peace and reconciliation process."
