Sinn Féin to meet Senior Management of Belfast Trust
Sinn Féin spokesperson for health Pat Sheehan MLA will meet with the Belfast Trust’s Chief Executive, Martin Dillon, Deputy Chief Executive/Medical Director Dr Cathy Jack and Bernie Owens, Director of Acute and Unscheduled Care at 12.30pm today to raise concerns regarding the circumstances leading to the recall of 2,500 patients.
Mr Sheehan will be accompanied by party colleague Paul Maskey MP and will be seeking assurances that affected patients are receiving the support they need.
In advance of the meeting Mr Sheehan said:
"It is important that the Trust is clear and transparent about the situation which sees 2,500 patients from across the north requiring a review of their cases.
"This is causing untold stress and worry to those affected.
"I will also be seeking assurances that these reviews will be completed within the 12 weeks stated and that anyone requiring treatment is prioritised and not left on a long waiting list.”
