Ó Donnghaile reiterates call for expulsion of Israeli Ambassador
Speaking at the Order of Business in the Seanad, Sinn Féin Senator Niall Ó Donnghaile reiterated his party’s call for the Israeli Ambassador is expelled from Ireland.
Speaking from Leinster House today, Seanadóir Ó Donnghaile said;
“What we are witnessing inflicted on the people of Gaza is mass murder; the international community must now respond and stand in support of justice, dignity, and humanity.
“The people of Gaza can no longer be left without the international solidarity they so desperately require and Ireland should set an example across Europe by acting.
“In the Seanad today, I reiterated my party’s call that given the ongoing massacring of innocent protesting civilians, carried out by Israel in recent days, as well as their continued breach of international law, the Tánaiste and government should act and as voted for by the Seanad and Dáil, they should recognise the State of Palestine.
“Israel cannot continue to slaughter with impunity, the Irish people expect better from the government and more importantly the Palestinian people deserve much better. The time for considered, measured, and necessary action is now and the government should send the Israeli Ambassador home.”
