Future broadband investment must prioritise rural areas –McGuigan
Speaking at today’s broadband report launch in the Great Hall at Stormont Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan said:
“Rural areas are disadvantaged in terms of access to high speed broadband.
"As a result SMEs have had to relocate their business or halt investment.
“Because of poor broadband many people in rural communities can’t work or study from home, and can’t access basic public services or shop online.
“Sinn Féin have been consistently calling for this inequality to be addressed and for future investment to prioritise rural areas.
“This report helps this call as it makes a strong social, economic and environmental case for investment in rural communities."--
