Inner City Helping Homeless to be awarded European Citizen’s Prize – Lynn Boylan MEP
ICHH is to be awarded the European Citizen’s Prize for 2018 after being nominated by Sinn Féin MEPs Lynn Boylan, Martina Anderson, Matt Carthy and Liadh Ní Ríada last year.
Speaking this evening after receiving confirmation from the European Parliament on the success of the ICHH nomination, Sinn Féin MEP for Dublin Lynn Boylan extended her congratulations to the organisation.
The Dublin MEP said:
“ICHH were nominated by Sinn Féin for the European Citizen’s Prize for their tireless work on behalf of the homeless people of Dublin. They have kept the homeless issue on top of the political agenda.
“ICHH has expanded to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and its outreach service assists homeless people on a nightly basis across our city.
"Furthermore, campaigns such as ‘FillaLuas’ have inspired hundreds of young people to show compassion by filling the Luas with gifts for those who might find themselves without a place to call home at Christmas.
Speaking this evening, CEO of Inner City Help Homeless Anthony Flynn said:
"To be granted the award is an absolute honour and truly reflects the hard work and dedication from all my team at Inner City Helping Homeless. The award is dedicated to each and every person who contributes time and effort to support the most vulnerable in society."
On behalf on the Sinn Féin team in the European Parliament, the Dublin MEP added:
“I and my fellow Sinn Féin MEPs send her our sincerest congratulations to ICHH on this award. As an MEP for the Dublin constituency, I am particularly proud of the organisation as they are an outstanding volunteer-led service."
