West Tyrone MP brings Billy Caldwell case to Home Office
Sinn Féin MP Órfhlaith Begley said today:
“Today I travelled to Heathrow airport to meet Billy on his journey home with his mother.
“We met with Nick Hurd the British Minister for Policing and the Fire Service to again ask the British government to find a way to allow Billy the medication which will ease his suffering.
“I have also written again to the Permanent Secretary for the Department of Health requesting that Billy’s medication is provided immediately.
“It is cruel and unfair that Billy and his mother Charlotte have had to travel to Toronto to get medication.
“There is an onus on all of us to find a way to ensure that medicinal cannabis is available where it is medically recommended.”
