Kearney welcomes Randalstown ‘Best Kept Town in Ireland’ Award
Sinn Féin South Antrim MLA, Declan Kearney has warmly welcomed the recent ‘all-Ireland’ title bestowed on Randalstown in the ‘Best Kept Town Awards 2018’ competition.
Mr Kearney said:
“I am absolutely delighted with the news that Randalstown has lifted first prize in Ireland’s ‘Best Kept Town Awards 2018’ competition. This prestigious award is a massive accolade for the whole of the Randalstown community and reflects the sense of civic pride evident throughout the town.
“It is also a tribute to the very hard work of the entire community, and all generations, over a long period of time to ensure that the very high standards, against which Randalstown was judged best in Ireland, have become the norm.
“I want to make particular mention of the small band of volunteers from Tidy Randalstown who spearheaded the Best Kept Towns bid. It was their infectious passion, leadership and determination which brought local businesses and the community together to achieve this richly deserved award.
“It is not every day that an all-Ireland title comes to this part of the world! This is an achievement in which everyone in Randalstown can take justifiable pride, and which I hope will encourage even greater future successes for this beautiful South Antrim town.”
