Murphy in call to assist police and ombudsman on horrific car crash

3 July, 2018

Sinn Féin Councillor Ryan Murphy has said his thoughts are with the families of people, including a child, who were injured tonight in a collision involving a number of vehicles on the Crumlin Road.

Ryan Murphy said:

“Several adults and a child were taken to hospital tonight following a collision involving a number of vehicles on the Crumlin Road.

“It’s believed some of those injured are in a serious condition and my first thoughts are with the families of all those injured and I wish them a full recovery.

“It’s deeply worrying there are reports that one vehicle involved was stolen.

“This incident follows a crash only months ago on the Ballysillan Road which claimed the life of a young mum Lisa Gow.

“The Police Ombudsman has been called in to examine the circumstances of this horrific incident and this investigation needs to be comprehensive and thorough.

“I call on anyone with any information on this incident to bring it forward immediately to the police and the Police Ombudsman.”
