Gerry Adams MP calls for calm ahead of Springfield parade

10 September, 2005

Sinn Féin MP for West Belfast Gerry Adams has called for calm ahead of this afternoon's contentious Orange Order Parade on the Springfield Road.

Speaking at lunchtime Mr Adams said:

"I would appeal to nationalists and republicans to remain calm today, it is clear that there are those who are intent on whipping up sectarian tensions around this parade". ENDS
