Young people must be empowered to make the right choices – Archibald
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has said young people must be empowered to make choices which are right for them.
The party's Spokesperson for Further and Higher Education said:
“I would firstly like to congratulate the young people across the North who have received their GCSE results this week.
“It is vital these young people, who will now be assessing their next steps, are fully informed of their options.
"For some the next logical step will be to remain in schools and undertake A' Level courses but for others different pathways may be better suited to them and their learning.
“There are many opportunities available from regional colleges and other providers including Apprenticeships, BTECs and other training programmes which provide students with skills and work experience in specific roles.
“There is an onus on schools and careers advisers to ensure information and advice is available on all these options.
“Young people must be empowered to make the choices which are right for them.”
