Sinn Fein meet with Public Health Agency on crisis de-escalation centre and suicide prevention
Sinn Fein met with Public Health Agency (PHA) on the crisis de-escalation centre and suicide prevention.
The party’s mental health spokesperson and West Belfast MLA Órlaithí Flynn said:
“I alongside party colleagues Carál Ní Chuilín MLA and Gerry Kelly MLA met with senior staff from the PHA to discuss suicide prevention and crisis de-escalation pilots.
“We stressed the heart-breaking and consistent highs levels of suicide in the North and West Belfast constituencies and the urgency for a functioning crisis de-escalation centre for the city.
“The PHA has confirmed they aim to have the crisis de-escalation centre up and running by January.
“Sinn Féin has requested quarterly meetings with the PHA to ensure that progress for the opening of this centre is made.”
