HIA victims deserve "no more delays and no more excuses" - Dillon
Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has said the party will continue to support the victims of historical institutional abuse.
The party’s victim’s spokesperson was speaking after it emerged that the British Secretary of State was seeking an injunction in relation to Monday’s court case.
The Mid-Ulster MLA said:
“As a party Sinn Féin will continue to support the victims of victims of historical institutional abuse.
“I would urge Karen Bradley not to seek an injunction in regard to Monday’s court case and to stop playing political football with the victims.
“The victims of historical institutional abuse want the closure they require in order for them to move on with their lives.
"They have had to endure a wholesale cover-up of what was going on in institutions right across this country.
"Steps need to be taken to address that. There can be no more delays and no more excuses.
“We need to learn the hard lessons about what happened in the past so that it will never ever happen again.”
