Archibald calls for upgrade of Limavady public sewer network
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has called on the Department for Infrastructure to invest in the upgrading of the public sewer network in Limavady.
The East Derry MLA said:
"There have been issues with planning applications not progressing as the public sewerage network can’t cope and NI water is not approving any new connections to the network.
"I have written to the Permanent Secretary of the Department for Infrastructure who has advised that NI water is currently identifying solutions for upgrading the sewer system to address flooding and new development issues in Limavady.
"A business case is to be completed in Autumn 2018 and I would urge the department that once this is complete, the funding should be released to allow upgrading works to commence."
