Archibald urges public to use fireworks responsibly
Sinn Féin MLA, Caoimhe Archibald has urged the public to use fireworks responsibly.
The East Derry MLA was speaking after the PSNI reported over 30 calls in the north region over the weekend.
Caoimhe Archibald said:
“News that the PSNI has reported over 30 calls relating to fireworks being used in an unacceptable manner including people throwing fireworks at each other and throwing fireworks at occupied houses late at night is concerning.
“With a full month remaining until to Halloween I would urge the public to use fireworks in a responsible manner and to buy them from official sources.
“By all means enjoy the festivities at Halloween and the lead up to it but be safe and do not let what should be a bit of fun turn into a nightmare, the consequences of which could be scars or disfigurement which last a life time.”
