Higgins must answer serious questions on use of public money - Ní Riada
Presidential candidate Liadh Ní Riada speaking in Cork this morning said:
“Over recent days a number of very serious questions have been raised about the use of public money by the Office of the President.
“Why is the President using a Lear Jet at huge public expense to fly within Ireland, to places like Belfast and Kerry?
“Why is the President using the OPW to maintain the garden and grounds of his private residence?
“What is the €300,000 expense account being used for?
“Why is €100,000 being spent on photography?
“These are very legitimate questions and it is not good enough to say that they will be answered after the election.
“This is public money and the people deserve the truth. Michael D Higgins needs to answer them now.”
