Sinn Féin meet Head of Civil Service on Casement project
A Sinn Féin delegation led by Deputy Leader Michelle O’Neill MLA met with the Head of the Civil Service today to press for progress on the Casement Park redevelopment.
The delegation, also including Conor Murphy MLA and Sinéad Ennis MLA met with Head of the Civil Service David Sterling and the Department of Communities Permanent Secretary Leo O’Reilly at Stormont.
Michelle O’Neill commented:
“We sought this meeting to discuss progress on the Casement project. We were informed that planning permission and the business case are now at an advanced stage of development and this momentum must continue.
“The officials are in no doubt about our position regarding the need to see this project delivered on the ground.
“The development of Casement Park is a hugely important project which will bring a positive dividend to the people in Belfast and wider Ulster GAA family. It will provide real opportunities for residents and businesses in terms of investment and job creation opportunities.”
