Archibald welcomes reopening of Claudy bridge
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed news that the Ballynameen Bridge in Claudy is scheduled to reopen to traffic on 31 October.
The East Derry MLA said:
“I welcome news that the Ballynameen Bridge will open to one lane of traffic from 31st October under a temporary traffic signal control and that it is anticipated the bridgewill reopen to normal two-way traffic before the end of November.
“This bridge suffered significant damage in the August 2017 floods and has undergone major reconstruction and renovation including the widening the carriageway and a footway along the length of the bridge.
“As some completion works are still ongoing I would urge road users to respect the signals and drive with due care and attention.”
