Sinn Féin meet GAA Ulster Council on Casement Park development
Sinn Féin Vice-President Michelle O’Neill has welcomed the firm commitment of the GAA Ulster Council to the Casement Park project.
The party’s deputy leader was speaking after meeting with senior officials from the GAA Ulster Council with Sinéad Ennis MLA, Paul Maskey MP and Conor Murphy MLA at Stormont.
Michelle O’Neill said:
“Today, we had a positive and constructive meeting with the Ulster Council of the GAA to talk about the completion of Casement Park.
“The development of Casement Park is a hugely important project that will have a positive impact on the lives of people in Belfast and across the north.
“The Ulster Council of the GAA are firmly committed to the completion of this long over due project.
“Progress has been made with the business case and planning permission now at an advanced stage but we need to maintain the momentum to push this development over the line.
“A new and vibrant Casement Park benefits everyone in the community including sports fans, residents and businesses in terms of investment and job creation opportunities for West Belfast.”
