Magee slams New Lodge death driving

10 November, 2018 - by JJ Magee

Sinn Féin Councillor JJ Magee has said he is relieved that no one has been injured following another night of death driving in the New Lodge area.

Two cars believed to have been used by death drivers were found burnt out at North Queen Street and Southwell Street in the early hours of this morning.

JJ Magee said:

“I have been contacted by a number of residents who are angry at having to endure another week of death driving in the New Lodge area of North Belfast.

“Two cars were found crashed and burnt out this morning 100 yards apart after a night of death driving in the area.

"Thankfully no-one was injured in these incidents but it has caused considerable distress to the local community.

"There is no place for this type of behaviour in our society. We need to end the scourge of death driving and those responsible should be brought before the courts.

“I am calling therefore on anyone with any information about this incident bring it forward to the PSNI.”
