'Staff must be protected amid Bombardier jobs losses' - O’Donnell
Speaking after reports that Bombardier is planning to cut another 490 jobs in the North, Sinn Féin Councillor Mairead O'Donnell said the livelihoods of the workers affected must be prioritised.
Cllr O’Donnell commented:
“This decision by Bombardier will be devastating to the many families and workers who face a very uncertain future and difficult times ahead.“The job losses will also be a hit to the economy in Belfast and across the north.
“It is vital that Bombardier engages with staff and union leaders to prioritise the livelihoods of the workers affected and that full support is given to workers being made redundant.”
