O’Donnell condemns East Belfast burglary
Sinn Féin Councillor Mairead O’Donnell has urged anyone with information about a burglary of a pensioner’s home in East Belfast to bring it forward to the PSNI.
A masked man forced a handbag from the elderly woman after getting into her Madrid Street home at around 7.45pm last night.
Mairead O’Donnell said:
“There is no place for this vile behaviour in our society.
"It was a disgusting incident and the community in the Short Strand are genuinely shocked about what has happened.
“Everyone should feel safe and secure in their own homes and I would remind everyone of the need to be extra vigilant at this time.
“I would urge anyone with any information about this crime to bring it to the PSNI to assist with their investigation.”
