Molloy welcomes release of Leyla Guven
Sinn Féin MP Francie Molloy has welcomed reports of the release of Kurdish MP Leyla Guven.
The Mid Ulster MP said:
"Reports that a court has ordered the release of Kurdish MP Leyla Guven is very welcome.
"She has been on hunger strike since November 8 and is now in a critical condition.
"While the order for her release is welcome, it appears the terms are limited. She should be released unconditionally, not under supervision.
"Now we need to see the release of Kurdish political leader Abdullah Ocalan and all Kurdish political prisoners, including hundreds who are on hunger strike, as a matter of urgency.
"This development shows the value of international solidarity and Sinn Féin will continue to stand with the Kurdish people."
