Baker calls for the restoration of Lagmore bus service
Sinn Féin Councillor Danny Baker has said he believes a solution can be found to restore the evening bus service in Lagmore following ‘mindless attacks’ by stone throwers.
Cllr. Baker said:
“Over the past number of days, buses have been attacked by youths throwing stones.
“On Tuesday these attacks escalated and a car belonging to Translink was attacked as they came into the community to support the bus service.
“Unfortunately due to these mindless attacks we have lost our evening buses, a service that covers most of Lagmore and Mount Eagles.
“Driver and passenger safety is paramount and together, as a community, I believe we can find a solution.
“Lagmore is a great place to live with a great community spirit, those behind the attacks are the minority and don't represent the young people of the area.
“I will continue to work with the community, youth providers and Translink in an effort to restore the evening bus service.”
