Clarke expresses condolences after Carlingford deaths

Mournes Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke has expressed condolences following a fatal traffic collision in Carlingford in which two local man died in the early hours of Monday morning.

Cllr Willie Clarke said:

“I am deeply saddened at the news that two young men have lost their lives on our roads. 

“I would like to offer my deepest condolences to their families and friends following this tragic incident.”

Commenting on the news that a body was discovered from Carlingford Lough on Monday, Cllr Clarke added:

“The local community are also in shock to learn that a body discovered in Carlingford Lough on Monday is believed by Police to be that of Ruth Maguire who lived in Newcastle. 

“I would like to thank the emergency services and the local community for their efforts to retrieve the body. 

“Our thoughts are with all families who lost loved ones in what was a sad and difficult weekend for the whole community.”
