Kearney applauds Rehability ‘Focus on Wellbeing’ photography project
Sinn Féin’s South Antrim MLA, Declan Kearney has applauded the Rehability ‘Focus on Wellbeing’ project which culminated in a photographic exhibition at the centre in Antrim Town last night.
Rehability is a long established community based initiative which works with local vulnerable adults.
Commenting after attending the exhibition, Declan Kearney said:
“I was delighted to have the opportunity to attend Rehability’s photographic exhibition last night and to view a very impressive range of images created by the members, including scenes from Antrim’s Castle Gardens and some very striking black and white portraits.
“The members were clearly delighted to see their work on display for the first time. Those I spoke to expressed surprise at how well their creations had turned out and were keen to explain their subject choice and technique.
“This has been a fantastic initiative on the part of Rehability, brought about by the combined efforts of centre manager, Billy Gould and local photographer Dave Pettard.
“It has added to the members’ experience and learning and has empowered them with a new sense of achievement, and an interest which I suspect will inspire even greater achievements in the months and years ahead.
“I want to congratulate everyone involved and look forward to seeing this exhibition receiving the public exposure it so richly deserves.”
