McCleave condemns theft of election posters
Sinn Féin’s Lisburn and Castlereagh Council candidate, Gary McCleave has condemned the theft of six of his election posters in the Thaxton Village area, just days after they were erected.
The Killultagh candidate said:
“The removal of my election posters in the Thaxton Village area is a sad reflection on those responsible.
“It is a blatant attack on the democratic process and a clear attempt to undermine the electorate’s choice of candidate.
“If the people behind this type of behaviour think it will discourage me, they are sadly mistaken.
“Sinn Féin will not be deterred from our democratic and legitimate right to campaign, and to bring our message of equality and rights to every corner of the Killultagh district electoral area.
“I have lodged a complaint with the PSNI, and sought assurances that a thorough investigation is undertaken immediately.”
