Nicholl encourages public to attend information session on Ballykelly flooding issues

2 April, 2019 - by Dermot Nicholl

Sinn Féin Councillor Dermot Nicholl has encouraged people to attend an information session relating to flooding issues on the Main Street in Ballykelly on 10th April.

Cllr Nicholl said:“I have been in regular contact with NI Water on flooding issues on the Main Street in Ballykelly and calling for work improvements.“I welcome the £850,000 to upgrade and replace the existing storm sewerage system in Main Street, Ballykelly and the fact that work will begin in June and is scheduled to be completed by late August 2019.“A lane closure will be in place on the Main Street, with temporary traffic management arrangements in operation while the work is underway.“I would ask members of the public to be patient while this essential work is going on as it will significantly reduce the risk of sewer flooding and environmental pollution in the area is complete.“I would encourage as many residents and businesses to come along to the information session between 4pm and 7pm on the 10th April in Ballykelly Presbyterian Church Hall, 26 Main Street, Ballykelly.”
