‘Progressive politics of Sinn Féin will not be silenced’ — Duffy
Sinn Féin’s Joe Duffy has said the removal of Sinn Féin posters will not stop the party’s growth in Lisburn.
The party’s candidate for Lisburn & Castlereagh Council said:
“Sinn Féin posters for the council elections were illegally removed in Lisburn today. This follows the removal of the party's election posters in Thaxton Village. These are blatant attacks on the democratic process.
“Those behind this will fail.
“Sinn Féin is fighting this election on the basis of equality, rights and Irish unity — a message which is resonating with people from communities across Lisburn and Castlereagh.
“Sinn Féin will not be silenced by these attacks and they will only increase our determination to bring our progressive politics to the voters in this council area.
“I am calling on voters to come out and make history on 2 May by electing three republicans, Gary McCleave, Ryan Carlin and myself to Lisburn & Castlereagh Council.”
