Government more interested in cutting ribbons than managing hospitals – Mary Lou McDonald TD
The Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald has said that the PWC Report on the National Children’s Hospital fiasco shows “a government that is totally out of touch, who are more interested in cutting ribbons than with responsibly managing taxpayers’ money.”
Speaking from Leinster House Ms McDonald said:
“What this report shows clearly is that this process has been a shambles from start till finish.
“It shows a government that is totally out of touch, who are more interested in cutting ribbons than with responsibly managing taxpayers’ money.
“The report demonstrates the inability of this government, and this Minister for Health in particular, to deliver vital projects on behalf of the public.
“There are still real and ongoing risks regarding the ongoing costs of this project which the public need answers on.
“The future delivery of this project needs the oversight and guidance of a Minister who is competent and can manage risk. That person is not Simon Harris.”
