Sinn Féin Councillor Cara McShane condemns theft of her election posters

10 April, 2019 - by Cara McShane

Sinn Féin Councillor Cara McShane has condemned the recent theft of her election posters in Ballycastle.

Speaking after the PSNI informed her that they found a number of her election posters last night during a random stop and search of a car in Coleraine, Cllr McShane said:“The theft of election posters is a criminal offence and a clear attempt to frustrate the democratic process and upset our campaign to ensure the people of Ballycastle and the wider Glens area have a strong Sinn Féin voice representing them at council.“I have been informed by the PSNI that they are preparing a file for the Public Prosecution Service.“Sinn Féin have a democratic and legitimate right to campaign, and to bring our message of equality, rights and Irish Unity to the people of the Causeway Coast and Glens area."Despite efforts to undermine that message, I will not be deterred.”
