Maskey welcomes Presidential visit to Áras Uí Chonghaile opening
Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey has welcomed the announcement that President of Ireland Michael D Higgins will attend the official opening of the new James Connolly Visitor Centre in west Belfast on Friday.
The West Belfast MP said:
"News that the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins will officially open Áras Uí Chonghaile, the new James Connolly Visitor Centre on the Falls Road on Friday is welcome.
"He will join the Connolly family and visitors from across the world for the opening.
"This new visitor centre is a fantastic venue celebrating the life and legacy of James Connolly and his close links to Belfast.
"Not only will it be an excellent contribution to the rich history and cultural life of west Belfast but also the entire city.
"There will be a parade along the Falls Road on Friday leading to Áras Uí Chonghaile for the official opening and I would encourage as many people as possible to take part."
