Hardy calls for removal of hurtful Para display
The erection of a banner and flags in Ballykeel proclaiming support for a former Paratrooper facing Bloody Sunday murder charges is designed to cause hurt to the victims of Bloody Sunday and cause community division, Sinn Féin Councillor Patrice Hardy has said.
Urging authorities to remove the display, Cllr. Hardy said: “The banner and Paratrooper flags proclaiming support for a murder suspect is wrong and grossly offensive.
“The victims of Bloody Sunday deserve the truth just as much as any victim of the conflict.
“The display, which has been erected on a roundabout in a prominent position is aimed only at causing hurt and stirring community tension. It should be removed immediately.”
