Protect species on World Earth Day - Boylan
Sinn Féin spokesperson on climate Change and Environment, Cathal Boylan MLA has called on people and communities to get active on World Earth Day on Monday 22nd April.
Cathal Boylan said:
“Nature’s gifts to our planet are the millions of species. Unfortunately, human beings have upset the balance of nature and through their activity the survival of many of our species is being threatened.
“The rapid reduction of plant and wildlife populations are directly linked to causes driven by human activity: climate change, deforestation, habitat loss, unsustainable agriculture, pollution and pesticides to name a few. The impact is
“If we do not act now, species and habitat loss may be humanity’s most enduring legacy. A viral part of that is continuing work to end the scourge of plastic pollution.
“Sinn Féin is calling on communities to extend the activism against plastic pollution to protection of our species.”
