Cork once again playing second fiddle on infrastructure investment - Pat Buckley TD
Sinn Féin TD for Cork East Pat Buckley TD has slammed news that possible funding for the Dunkettle Roundabout and associated Cork road projects could be in jeopardy.
His comments were in response to local media reports that the government has not made proper funding available and the project may now face lengthy delays.
Deputy Buckley said;
"This is a very important plan for overhauling Corks infrastructure and challenging the over concentration of business and population around Dublin.
"Once again Cork has been let down by a Dublin centric government. They obviously believes all roads should continue to lead to the Dublin.
"We do not and we demand investment in our county.
"This is a not just a roads issue as the project is associated with the Lee tunnel and all housing projects are dependent on these upgrades being completed."
