‘Electoral Office must ensure polling stations are accessible’ - Baker
Sinn Féin’s Shauneen Baker has said it’s unacceptable that three people with disabilities cannot get access to vote at Cliftonville Integrated Primary School in North Belfast.
Shauneen Baker said:
“Three disabled citizens have been told they cannot get access to a polling station at Cliftonville Cliftonville Integrated PS to cast their vote today as the building is unaccessible.
“This is totally unacceptable and must be rectified immediately.
“The Electoral Office have a responsibility to ensure that everyone can exercise their democratic right to vote and to ensure that polling stations are accessible.
“Sinn Féin have contacted to the Chief Electoral Officer to register complaint and to seek an immediate resolution to this issue.”
