Gildernew to host public meeting on Brexit and Irish unity in Westminster
Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew will host a public meeting in Westminster tomorrow evening to discuss the Brexit and Irish unity.
The Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP said:
"Tomorrow evening in Westminster I will be hosting a public meeting, 'Irish Unity – The Democratic Option,' to discuss the latest political developments and the ongoing campaign for Irish unity.
"It is clear there is a growing support for Irish unity right across Ireland, in Britain and throughout Europe, particularly in the face of the Brexit chaos in the British political system.
"More and more people are now looking at the democratic option of Irish unity, as provided for in the Good Friday Agreement, as a means of all the island of Ireland remaining in the EU.
"Tomorrow's public meeting also comes after last week's local government elections in the north and at the start of new talks and these will also be discussed.
"I would encourage anyone with an interest in Irish unity, the Good Friday Agreement and the promotion of rights to come along to the Wilson Room in Portcullis House, Westminster, at 7pm."
