Correct decision to restore money for sports coaching in schools - Ennis
Sinn Féin MLA Sinéad Ennis has said it is the correct decision to restore money for sports coaching in schools.
The party’s sport, art and culture spokesperson was speaking after the Department of Education announced it is to spend £600,000 on primary sports coaching.
“Sinn Féin vigorously opposed the decision to cut money for sports coaches and it is the correct decision to restore it as children and young people should not bear the brunt of Tory austerity,” Sinéad Ennis said.
“This funding will benefit sporting projects from the GAA and Irish Football Association (IFA) within our local schools and tens of thousands of children.”
