Brady calls for removal of parachute regiment flags

3 June, 2019 - by Mickey Brady

Sinn Féin MP Mickey Brady has called for the removal of parachute regiment flags in the Tandragee and Mullaghglass areas.

The Newry and Armagh MP said:

"Flags and banners have been erected in the Tandragee and Mullaghglass areas in support of the British army's parachute regiment.

"These flags cause offence to many in the community, particularly at this time when the Ballymurphy inquest is still ongoing.

"In particular there is a parachute regiment banner on the main street on Tandragee; an area used by all sections of the community.

"These flags are insensitive and hurtful and those who erected them should remove them immediately."
