‘More clarity needed on stroke and breast assessment proposals’ - Sheehan
New information published by the Department of Health on proposals to reshape stroke and breast assessment services does little more than acknowledge the concerns raised so far, Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has said.
The party’s health spokesperson was commenting after supplementary information on the proposals was published today.
He commented: “From the start, we have challenged the department to provide the public with the relevant information in terms of its processes and the evidence base for its proposals.
“Everyone agrees that transformation of health and social care is needed if we are to achieve better health outcomes. Service transformation must be done in a process along with staff, service users and the communities they serve.
“The questions that need to be addressed on the reshaping of stroke and breast assessment services, remain unanswered.
“In the upcoming public engagements, Sinn Féin will be seeking answers and we would encourage members of the public to attend.”
