Gerry Adams welcomes LMFM apology

3 July, 2019 - by Gerry Adams TD

Sinn Féin Louth TD Gerry Adams has welcomed the retraction this morning by LMFM of comments that were carried by the broadcaster in February this year.

In the course of interviews broadcast on the Michael Reade Show on 14th and 15 February “false and defamatory” comments were made about Teachta Adams.

LMFM this morning said that it “unreservedly retracts these false statements which we acknowledge should not have been broadcast in the first place” and it apologised to Mr. Adams.

Commenting on this morning’s developments Gerry Adams said:

“I welcome LMFM’s apology and its unreserved retraction of 'false and defamatory' comments that were made on the Michael Reade Show in February concerning the murder of Tom Oliver.

"I want to thank my solicitor Paul Tweed for his efforts in this case.”
