Dublin Port Company should be subject to Freedom of Information Act – Jonathan O’Brien TD
Sinn Féin TD for Cork North-Central Jonathan O'Brien TD has called on the Dublin Port Company’s exemption from the Freedom of Information Act to come to an end.
Speaking today, Teachta O'Brien said;
“Dublin Port Company is a State-owned commercial company that operates vital strategic infrastructure for our economy. Its importance only increases as we approach the Brexit deadline.
“Only recently it has sought planning permission for a €320 million expansion and has been embroiled in an expenses scandal. All the while, its preparations for changing trade patterns as a result of Brexit are crucial to the future of Irish jobs and exports.
“This is a stated-owned company operating strategic and vital infrastructure. It is time that Dublin Port Company is open to scrutiny that is in the public interest.”
