Kearney condemns criminal attack on Glenavy Protestant Hall
Sinn Féin South Antrim MLA, Declan Kearney has unreservedly condemned a paint bomb attack on the Protestant Hall in Glenavy in the early hours of this morning.
Responding to the attack Declan Kearney said:
"This attack on the Protestant Hall in Glenavy village was a hate crime, an act of criminality and clearly aimed at provoking sectarian tensions.
"Those responsible have no positive contribution to make towards promoting mutual respect or enhancing community relations in South Antrim. Such criminal attacks incite fear and distrust. I condemn these actions unreservedly and call on the local community to stand together against any attempts to foment community divisions in Glenavy.
"I have received a report from the local police commander on this incident, and would now appeal for anyone with information which may assist in bringing those responsible before the courts to provide that directly to the PSNI, or alternatively by contacting Crime Stoppers."
