Sinn Féin meet with DfI Roads
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald and Cllr Dermot Nicholl met with the Head of Northern Division DfI Roads, David Porter to highlight a number of issues that have been raised across the constituency over the past few months and discuss strategic projects.
The East Derry MLA said:
"We had a constructive meeting with David Porter, Head of Northern Division DfI Roads and put on record our appreciation to Roads Service staff who regularly respond to our queries and do so in a timely manner.
"We discussed the need to progress the 'Park and Ride' in Dungiven alongside the construction of the Dungiven bypass part of the A6 and were given assurances that this was progressing for the preferred site beside Dungiven Castle
"We also raised again the need to move forward with the Ballykelly bypass which is often a bottleneck for traffic and this has potential to increase in the future with the development of Shackleton.
"We also raised a number of other issues including winter gritting and traffic calming and management including on Main Street, Feeney, Bridge Street, Kilrea and Boleran Road, Ballerin.
"We will continue to work on these issues and update as they progress."
