Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald TD today launched the final report of the party’s Councillors Consultation party.
Speaking at the Sinn Féin annual think-in in Dundalk ahead of the resumption of the Dáil next week, the Dublin Central TD said:
“Sinn Féin elected representatives from across the island will come together to take stock of the last 12 months and agree our priorities for the time ahead.
“As we face Brexit, the budget and elections north and south the work of our local representatives’ is more important than ever to the communities we represent.
“On taking up the leadership I initiated a consultation process with Sinn Féin’s Council teams on identified areas of organisational and professional development.
“Ensuring a respectful environment for all within Sinn Féin has always been a priority for me. I want all members to enjoy positive and effective working relationships with their colleagues.
“This project provided a timely opportunity to engage directly with our Councillors for the purpose of developing recommendations to better support their work.
“The report has been presented to Councillors and implementation of its recommendations is underway. We are now moving forward with a renewed commitment to deliver on our shared vision of a fair and united Ireland for all the islands citizens.”
